Σ collects nothing. No identity, no usage, no device information, no location. There is no exception and no setting that changes it.

Why that is true
Not a commitment you are asked to take on faith. A property of how Σ is built.
- We operate no server for it. There is no endpoint to receive anything
- It contains no third-party code — no library, no analytics kit, no advertising SDK. Nothing inside it belongs to anyone else
- The source contains no outbound address. There is nowhere to send data even if it tried
No account, no advertising, no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting. Nothing is shared with anyone, because there is nothing to share.
Where your data lives
On your device. Messages, files, notes, tasks and clipboard history are stored by Android under Σ's private storage or in locations you choose. Uninstalling Σ removes what it stored. We hold no copy, because we never had one.
The two things that leave your device
A file you send. Σ requests network permission for one purpose: sending a file directly to another device you choose, over your own network, when you start it. Encrypted, device to device, not through us.
A message you send. It goes through your mobile carrier, as any SMS or MMS does, under your carrier's terms. We do not see it, receive it, or hold it.
Permissions
Each is used on your device, for a feature you can see.
- SMS and MMS — Σ can be your default messaging application. This is that
- Contacts — so a conversation shows a name instead of a number. Read on the device, never transmitted
- Phone number and state — required by Android to send and receive on the correct SIM
- Storage — the file manager
- Microphone — only while recording a voice message, only when you start one
- Notifications — so an arriving message tells you
Your rights
Rights to access, correct, export or delete personal data — under the GDPR, the CCPA, or any comparable law — apply to data a company holds about you. We hold none. To remove what Σ stored on your device, uninstall it.
Changes
A revised version is posted here with a new effective date. A change introducing any data collection would be stated at the top of this page and would appear in the Data Safety section of the Google Play listing before it shipped.
